This piece was incredibly rewarding to make. Also side note, when I was first making this piece it wasn’t intended for anything. I actually made this with no pressure of a project deadline and taking the time to process what I wanted to illustrate. I took sooooo many steps back from this piece and came back when the time is right. I want to let you all know that’s it’s okay to do that! That is the beautiful process of making art and creating personal growth as an artist😊
As time went on, I was fortunate enough to have @mauipublicart (thank you so much!💗) reached out to me to create a piece for Lahaina and I knew this was the perfect fit. This piece was meant for the community. I’m grateful to have this opportunity to give back with art and I hope to continue to do so for the community of Maui that has done so much for me.
